We are deep in a physical revolution where the impacts of human induced climate disasters are evident in every region across the globe. The impacts of climate change and the horror of extreme heat and drought is creating awareness that increased fossil fuel dependency will eventually deliver the existential crisis many climate scientists have warned against since the 1980s. The destabilization of the world’s ecological systems is happening now and at the same time our growing population and GDP are accelerating our demand for oil and gas.

The escalating risk landscape exacerbated by climate change has created a daunting road ahead for governments, policymakers, investors and all other financial actors. Notwithstanding this reality, what is incredibly exciting is the extent of opportunity that exists to navigate the roadmap towards a netzero future with human ingenuity. One thing for sure is that tenacity and innovation into alternative clean energy has to be made a reality by a new era of sustainable investment and investor appetite for sustainable economic growth through the proliferation of clean tech: solar, wind, geothermal, electrification, nuclear.

The transition into alternative energy sources creates benefits to society that are insurmountable. To get there we need to innovate, collaborate, come together and foster information and resource sharing.
